Experienced Dance Instructor and Choreographer Casandra Hillman
Casandra Hillman is an experienced dance instructor, choreographer, and performer who has taught both high school and college courses. She is well-versed in a diversity of dance idioms, including hip hop, musical theater, and modern/contemporary. Throughout her career, she has established a reputation for creating and restaging choreography at a high artistic level. As a performer, Casandra Hillman effectively uses movement and body language to convey character, narrative, and abstract concepts to audiences.
Casandra Hillman began her career as the assistant director and choreographer at Hope Musical Theatre in 2004. She has worked extensively as an educator and choreographer at many institutions, while also performing at Lisser Theatre and with the Mills College Repertory Company.
Casandra Hillman studied choreography and performance at Mills College, graduating with a master of fine arts in dance. She has established numerous professional affiliations throughout her career, including relationships with the National Dance Education Organization, Dancers’ Group in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the American Federation of Teachers. She has attended conferences hosted by the American College Dance Association and the National Dance Education Organization.
